June 9 Meeting - Featuring Fran Scheffler presenting "Silk Painting Hands on"
A short business meeting will be followed by a presentation on "Silk Painting Hands On" by Fran Scheffler. Fran Scheffler is a renown local artist with a rich background in many mediums and techniques. Taking courses under the guidance of Sandy Marchetti at Broward Community College and additional work with Jack Hopkins led to the establishment of her own studio in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, where she can be found most every morning. Her work ranges from acrylic, watercolor or resin abstracts to carefully executed representational scenics and seascapes in oil. Her work is owned by many private collectors and has received numerous exhibition honors. Our Art-by-the-Sea is fortunate to have Fran as an active Board Member and Chair of the Program Committee. P.S. Bring your portable hair dryer so you can dry your work and take it home. All other materials will be supplied. P.S.#2 - July and August meetings will not be held due to summer vacations. Fran Scheffler Appointed Chairperson of Program Committee
As part of our effort to strengthen the Association, we have reviewed our past year activities. In order to better support and showcase our members we believe an artist's program committee should be created to identify programs of interest. The committee will assist the Board in scheduling these presentations for our monthly meetings. We are especially pleased that Fran Scheffler has agreed to serve as Chairperson of the Program Committee. Lee Tatum, Donna Whiteside Sallee and Mary Belle Cordell have agreed to serve as members of this Committee.
The Board and I urge you to support the Committee and its work in any way you can. We are looking for your insights, connections and, hopefully, your willingness to share your expertise as a presenter at a monthly meeting.
